On Aug 31st Betty, Jim, Candice and I leave for the Yellow Mountains. This is yet another highlight of the trip and I was very much looking forward to this portion. I have seen pictures of this region before and I wonder whether we will have the same gorgeous view as seen in some of those photographs. Our plane brings us from Shanghai to Huangshan [?]. Using a shuttle we drive about 2 hours to the base of the mountains. The weather is awful, it's raining most of the time and it does not look promising as far as a good view is concerned. We use the cable car to get to the top of the mountains. From the cable car station at the top it's a 30 minute walk to our hotel. We are surrounded by clouds, clouds and clouds. No view of the moutains around us ...
